About WOCPSN

WOCPSN is for New Zealand public sector employees who identify as women of colour and allies of all genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds.

Identifying as a woman of colour is not limited to belonging to a specific race or ethnicity. Activist and Associate Professor Loretta. J Ross explains that ‘women of colour’ it is a self-named term that women of colour gave themselves. It is a 'solidarity definition' that reclaims the minority status of women of colour while empowering them and demonstrating their commitment to champion change for themselves and the communities of colour they represent.
